Boat-trip with shipping company De Festijn

If you are enjoying your holiday at the Zeeland coast, a boat-trip should of course be included in your programme. A mussel cutter (ship) built in the village of Yerseke, was completely transformed into a ship for recreational passenger shipping in the town of Breskens. The ship lives up to its name: it truly is a feast to sail with ‘De Festijn’!

Boat-trips are organised throughout the year in Breskens by shipping company De Festijn on their ship bearing the same name. The transformed mussel cutter is inspected every four years. Get on board at the commercial port or Westhaven, where you can park your car for free. Enter the ship through the long walkway, accessible for both elderly and disabled people and children. Everyone on board? Untie the ropes!

Spotting sea birds

De Festijn is equipped with an ample, covered canteen enabling you to stay dry. When the bar is staffed, it offers a wide choice of food and beverages. The most enjoyable element of the boat-trip obviously is admiring the scenery: watching the sea and hearing the water splash against the boat. Rent some binoculars on board and spot the sea birds. Ask for more information about the fish living in the water and the nature of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. Not in the mood for spotting? Just sit back and enjoy. That sound of the water can trigger certain events... are you in desperate need? Luckily the ship has two toilets, so no need to worry about that.

Sport fishing with De Festijn

De Festijn occasionally organises sport fishing trips. The materials needed are on board and rental rods are present. The shipping company can even supply sea bait. We wish you a great passage and a good catch!
